25_nov_08 last beta flat-pak headed off to MA. I will post here when we get production flat-paks finished.

22_nov_08 14 beta flat-paks have shipped, 1 set left

23_may_07 Addition of a slideshow of the assembly of the 1st prototype flat-pak

01_may_07 This has been a long time making, but the parts for the main horn (level 1) are ll cut. Deflectors & supraBaffles and we'll be ready to go.

31_october_06 Still not out the gate yet. After building up the 1st prototypes we decided to revist some of the details to make them easy to build. As part of this we are moving to all 15 mm Baltic Birch construction. Stay tuned.

19_august_06 With the promotion of the alpha 1.4.0 build to full Version 1.0 status, we are proceeding with the development of the promised flat-paks.

Since the Frugel-Horn build requires facilities beyond the reach of many diyers we hope that the availability of flat-paks will enable many more diyers to enjoy the Frugel-Horn.

This 1st run will allow the early adoptor to build a full Level 3 Frugel-Horn (and experiment with Level 1 & Level 2). Assembly will require glue & packing tape (or masking tape), and driver install will require a screw driver & soldering iron (and a drill if you wish to pre-drill the mounting screw holes). It will accomodate either the FE126e or the FE108eS. If you wish to open up the voids you will need a router with a flush trim bit (or a jigsaw and a big wood-file).
The picture above is of the 1st prototype flat-pak and has shown us where some adjustments & changes are required to get the bugs out of the CNC program and to make them easier to build. Since the Supra-baffle requires a pass thru a big table saw after assembly it will come pre-assembled.

A FAQ with anwers to potential & actual questions is under development.

The render to the left illustrates what the flat-pak includes (there is one more piece we are adding to aid the build process).

This 1st run serves the purpose of helping to figure out what the actual price of future runs will need to be, buildability issues in the field, and help us work out any remaining bugs in the flat-pak as well as to iron out the accompanying documentation (as yet unwritten). These will also allow us to get a handle on the cost of shipping.

Leter runs will allow the buyer to pick & choose the build level, and add additional options (ie custom exotic supra-baffles that may cost more than the entire rest of the horn)

Early adopters can pre-order a flat-pak for $250 CAD + cost of shipping.

We hope to have the bugs worked out and be ready to ship sometime in September.

Canadian residents will be subject to 5% GST, and BC residents an additional 7% PST.
