Planet10-hifi Fostex-based drivers
Note:FE127eN
(singles. unmatched pair), FE167eN (3 pair) are limited to stock on hand. FF85KeN
& FE207eN are gone. Last FE127eN matched pr gone.
Planet10-hifi presents the 1st commercially available
EnABLed** drivers. These drivers
are not only EnABLed but have some Planet10 exclusive modifications which include
cone pre-treatment to reduce high frequency roughness of the driver's response, basket
damping & stiffening, and pair matching of Thiel-Small parameters.
Note: unless specially requested
(say to match an existing installation) all now have EnABL2 a subtle but real improvement
on the process (i'll get pictures updated soon). The most recent pictures here have EnABL2 -- the thread also illustrates some
of the possible colour schemes.
Sonically these bear only a passing resemblance to the Fostex drivers they are based
on, with lower coloration, much less shout, and higher downward dynamic range.

We have been shipping
FE126eN, FE127eN, FF85KeN as regular stocking items for 2 1/2 years
now.
Available by special
order are FE166/167/206eN
and FX120eN. The process on these is pretty much sorted, but we need sufficient units
in the field to evaluate whether the required retail to justify regular stock is
felt to be worthwhile.
Customer drivers will also be accepted for modification.
There are dozens of enclosure
designs available in the box
plan library, on the frugal-horn
site, and on many other
sites.
Many Fonkens & Spawns, Frugel-Horn, Metronome, Spawns (lots of them), RonHorn,
diyAudio ref ML-TLs, ML-Voigt, PAWO, Mileva, classics like Buschhorn, ZigmaHornet,
...
... and more being developed all the time -- by us & by others.
Or upgrade your existing Fostex based diy or commercial loudspeaker,
Drivers are available in many colour schemes, but for regular stock we try to keep
to the most popular as this affords us the opportunity for better matching.
